Outpatient Program
Out patient treatment is the least intensive level of treatment provided for a substance use disorder. Depending on the client's particular history and severity of the addiction problem out patient treatment may be the initial phase of treatment. Client's may also enter treatment at a more intensive level of care and step down to out patient as a part of the continuum of care. This level of treatment is available at both our Lancaster and Ephrata offices. Out patient treatment is driven by a formalized treatment plan process. This process includes goals or out comes as identified by both the therapist as well as the client. Once the goals of treatment are established, the therapist and client agree on specific action steps to be taken in support of those goals. This plan is then reduced to writing and signed by the therapist and client becoming a key component of the treatment process. Treatment plan progress is monitored during each individual session and treatment plan updates are conducted every 60 days. Out patient treatment involves a combination of group, individual and family therapy at intervals determined by the primary therapist. Group Therapy is normally provided one time weekly for one and one half hour. H.S.A. Counseling offers a wide range of groups consisting of 8-10 persons per group. Client's are assigned to groups based on their clinical need as well as their work or school schedules. Day and evening groups are available to meet the scheduling needs of clients. Process groups include both early recovery and second stage recovery issues. Addiction education groups are available as well as issue specific groups for example women's or dual diagnosis group. Individual Therapy is normally scheduled one time weekly for an hour at the beginning of this phase of treatment. The frequency of individual therapy is then decreased as the client progresses in treatment. This process is designed to aid the client in meeting agreed upon treatment plan goals then to decrease the frequency until the client is able to maintain his recovery without professional intervention. Family/Couples Therapy is offered to those client's when it is determined to be beneficial in helping the client to achieve or maintain abstinence.
